What are the benefits of holding a Chamber ribbon cutting?

By hosting a ribbon cutting, you can:

  • Introduce both the public and Chamber Partners to your business
  • Announce your ribbon cutting on the Chamber's Events Calendar
  • Familiarize the public and Chamber Partners with your product/services
  • Familiarize the public and Chamber Partners with your physical location
  • Begin a customer base
  • Generate leads and sales from attendees
  • Social media and photo opportunities

Is the ribbon cutting my business's event or a Chamber event?

This is your event. The Chamber will gladly assist you with the following:

  • Notify the Chamber's Diplomat Committee Partners of your ribbon cutting, encouraging their attendance
  • Provide a list of your local officials if you would like to invite them (upon request)
  • A dedicated event webpage on the Chamber’s event calendar
  • Have a member of the Chamber's Team provide congratulatory remarks
  • Provide a list of Chamber Partner caterers and entertainment (upon request)
  • Bring the "BIG scissors," ribbon, and stanchions
  • Provide social media promotions before and during the event
  • Provide a commemorative plaque
  • Provide a window cling to display at your place of business
  • Inclusion on the Chamber's Upcoming Events emails (starting one month prior)

Who qualifies for a ribbon cutting?

The Columbia Chamber is available to assist with your ceremony if your business meets any of the following:

  • Ribbon cuttings for Impact, Keystone, Executive, and Ambassador Partners are included with your Partnership.
  • Partners at the Impact level are allowed to have one ribbon cutting during the lifetime of an Impact level Partnership.
  • Partners at the Keystone level and up are allowed to have one ribbon cutting per year.
  • Ribbon cuttings for Cornerstone level Partners are $200 with your Partnership, but your business will be upgraded to the Impact level for the year once your payment is received.
