Behind every successful Chamber initiative is a dedicated group of individuals working behind the scenes to make it happen. Our committees are the driving force behind our mission, and we’re excited to shine a spotlight on the incredible members who bring their expertise, passion, and leadership to the table. In this series, we’ll introduce you to the people powering our committees, sharing their stories and their vital work to support our business community.

Learn More About Caitlin:
Caitlin Bruner is an Executive Recruiter for UNUM Group and is based out of Columbia, South Carolina. Caitlin joined UNUM / Colonial Life in 2012 and has supported many different business organizations across the UNUM Group enterprise – including, but not limited to, recruiting and program management support for the enterprise leadership development programs. Her main focus currently is supporting all officer level roles for the Colonial Life Home Office & Sales organizations, People & Communications and UNUM Group Benefits. She previously supported the Finance, Solutions, Audit, Investment and Strategy organizations.

Caitlin began her career in recruiting with a small, boutique Information Technology recruiting firm that had clients across North and South Carolina. She was able to leverage that experience and technical recruiting expertise to become the dedicated technical recruiter for the Colonial Life campus. In addition to supporting the IT organization, Caitlin also supported several different Operational areas of the business, as well as ran point on the recruitment for the Professional Development Program and Scholars program for the Columbia campus. Her success with recruiting for those enterprise-wide programs allowed her the opportunity to then move into program management for the early careers programs. Caitlin is now back in a dedicated recruiter role and credits her ability to deliver results, ability to build strong business partnerships, her strong customer service orientation and networking skills as the keys to her success.

Caitlin graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication and loves all things Tar Heel basketball. She and her husband, Ben, have two boys, Callum and Harrison.  They love to travel out West and have visits to several National Parks on their bucket list.
