The Columbia Chamber's flagship leadership program, Leadership Columbia, is requesting proposals for the LC Class of 2022 Class Project. Each year, the LC Class partners with a local nonprofit organization to complete a project that will create a positive impact on the community. The selected nonprofit's project should align with the mission of the applicant and expand, enhance, or improve the organization's work.
Founded in 1972 by the Columbia Chamber, Leadership Columbia is a ten-month skills-building program designed to provide the Midlands with a diverse group of leaders dedicated and prepared to create positive community impact. In 1982, Leadership Columbia began funneling the talents of each class into one class project, finalized prior to graduation in June.
The project exposes class participants to critical community issues, while simultaneously providing them with team-building and leadership development opportunities. The project is intended to leverage the class's wide range of industry and professional experience in a collaborative manner to produce a measurable difference for the nonprofit and its beneficiaries.
The project will be carried out by approximately 60 candidates in the Leadership Columbia Class of 2022 and will be completed by April 2022. To submit a proposal, the project's beneficiary must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is non-political and non-sectarian. Applicants must be located within the Chamber's six-county area: Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Kershaw, Calhoun, and Newberry Counties.
