LEADERSHIP COLUMBIA CLASS OF 2019 ANNOUNCES CLASS PROJECT
Leadership Columbia partners with the Babcock Center
As part of the Leadership Columbia program, each class choses a project that makes an impact in the community. This year, after receiving RFPs from 10 non-profit organizations in the greater Columbia area, the LC Class of 2019 has chosen a project that benefits the Babcock Center. The project will be beautification enhancements to their primary job training facility and strategic enhancements to their marketing to expand their footprint in the Midlands' workforce.
In an effort to increase awareness of the Babcock Center's mission to empower people with lifelong disabilities by encouraging community involvement, learning new skills and finding employment, the Leadership Columbia Class of 2019 is working on a beautification and branding project surrounding the organization's Shop Road location. Through physical enhancements to both the interior and exterior of their primary job training facility, as well as equipping their team with effective marketing/PR strategy, the LC class strives to spread the Babcock Center's message throughout our community, thus expanding their footprint in the greater Columbia area workforce and promoting inclusivity.

Leadership Columbia is an educational program offered through the Columbia Chamber. The 10-month program provides emerging and existing leaders in the Midlands area with an opportunity to enhance their civic knowledge and network. About the Babcock Center Foundation
The Babcock Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower people with lifelong disabilities to enjoy life by promoting abilities and respecting choice. An inclusive community is one free of barriers for people with lifelong disabilities. Babcock Center is the largest private provider of community services for people with severe lifelong disabilities in South Carolina.
