Winners announced at Chamber June and August Gather & Grow events

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Columbia Chamber is pleased to announce ReToisha Dallas (Logan Elementary) and Cody Jones (Jackson Creek Elementary) as the Educator Excellence Teacher of the Quarter award winners.

The Educator Excellence Teacher of the Quarter Award, sponsored by Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union, recognizes outstanding educators from Richland One and Richland Two school districts. This quarterly award honors teachers who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their students, innovative teaching methods, and a commitment to community involvement. Each award winner also received $500 from Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union.

"Educators are the heart of our community, and at Palmetto Citizens, we’re proud to honor those who go above and beyond to inspire, empower, and uplift the next generation," said Emilie Lewis, Director of Community Engagement at Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union. "Founded by local teachers, our credit union is deeply rooted in education, and we’re honored to continue that legacy by recognizing outstanding educators like ReToisha Dallas and Cody Jones for the powerful difference they make every day."

ReToisha Dallas

With 15 years of experience at her current school, ReToisha Dallas has taught grades 1 through 3, with second grade being her favorite. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina, as well as two Master’s degrees: one in Classroom Leadership from Southern Wesleyan University and another in Literacy from Clemson University. Cody Jones

Cody Jones has been teaching music and movement at Jackson Creek Elementary since it opened in 2017, working with over 500 Pre-K to fifth-grade students. A lifelong musician and student of movement, Mr. Jones integrates music, dance, and brain-based learning strategies to create an active, inclusive, and developmentally rich classroom environment. His innovative teaching methods emphasize creativity, collaboration, and improvisation, helping students embody music rather than just study it. Beyond the classroom, he fosters strong connections with families and the school community, leading student performances and contributing to school-wide spirit. As a mentor to future educators and a leader in professional development, Mr. Jones’s influence reaches well beyond his students.
